Fear.
Fear... so dreaded & shunned.
So unwanted & judged.
So feared!
Don’t be afraid of being afraid.
Don’t fear Fear.
Fear is ultimately your friend.
Fear... so dreaded & shunned.
So unwanted & judged.
So feared!
Don’t be afraid of being afraid.
Don’t fear Fear.
Fear is ultimately your friend.
Natural fear is there to protect you from real danger… a car that is about to hit you, fire that is about to burn you or the misstep that will have you tumbling down the cliff. It is there to keep you from (physical) harms way and assure your survival. It is a fear that we all carry as human beings, even if our ability to handle it may differ tremendously.
Then there is a fear that is not so natural… we can call it nonsensical fear.
Nonsensical fear is created by your mind. It’s a fear based in your history and your stories about your past… fear of being rejected, of not being good enough, of not living up to your own or others expectations, fear of loosing whatever you have created… it can be anything.
This fear is very personal to you, created and individualized by your past.
Don’t be afraid of being afraid.
Don’t fear Fear.
Acknowledge fear as it arises. Know it is present. Allow it to be there. Hold no resistance.
If the fear is natural fear and there is real danger… listen to your instincts and take action!
Most likely the fear is a nonsensical fear, created by your mind, your deepest, and potentially unconscious, memories.
Realize this fear is nothing but a ghost from the past, arising to tell you there is perceived danger. Realize it is arising from your past, to protect you from repeating your history. Realize the perception of danger is based in your story, in your past experiences and how you interpreted them as they happened... it is not based in real danger, it's imaginary.
This fear has nothing to do with this present moment.
Nothing.
This fear is not your enemy. It is not here to harm you. This fear too, is here to protect you… except there is noting to protect you from, but a ghost from the past and your own stories around it.
Embrace this fear. Thank it for its good intentions.
Hold a space for this fear. Feel it. Be aware of it. Allow it.
Most of all - release all resistance to it.
Let this fear from the past move through your being like waves, let them flow freely.
Feel it stir your nervous system and think of it as tickles from a loved one, wanting your best with misguided advise, advise you know is not true for you, not any more.
Feel the fear stir up an inner voice, whispering… or maybe shouting… “truths” that no longer are in alignment with you and the life you live – or want to live – today. Feel this voice as birds chirping… it has nothing to do with you… you can hear them, you can choose to listen to them and let them fill your moment… or just let them be, let them chirp.
Feel this fear move through your being, noticing all it’s expressions within you – physical, emotional, mental – knowing this is arising within you… but it is not who or what you are.
Hold no resistance. Hold no attachment.
Refrain from pulling away from, suppressing or rejecting this fear.
Refrain from moving into, holding onto and believing in this fear.
Stay present and aware... neutral.
Hold space for this fear to finally move through you, all the way; to fulfill its movement of perceived protection.
When there is no longer a force created by the present day you - pushing or pulling, rejecting or accepting - this fear will naturally subside into the nothingness it first came from so many years ago.
And you are free. Free from this ghost of the past.
Fear is nothing but a veil of beliefs from your past.
Beyond this veil lays a field of infinite possibilities.
Beyond fear everything is possible.
Beyond fear your dream life is awaiting You.
Move through the illusion of fear and create the life of your dreams.
Take the first step today…
Go get it!
Postnote:
There is one more category of fear... not the natural fear or the fear induced by the mind... instead this fear arises when the physical body is out of chemical balance; be it from illness, drug use or other causes... but this fear is a subject for another day, another blog.
