Pakistan Belgium, Paris, 9/11, Syria, Turkey, terrorism, war, suicide attacks, famine, domestic violence, gangs, contaminated water or no water at all, hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, school shootings, chemical leaks, GMO, global warming, extinction of many species, trophy killing… an endless list.
It’s easy to be overwhelmed, to dis-connect and live in our own bubble.
Sometimes these events come close to home and we are stirred out of our illusion of safety. ‘If it can happen in Brussels, it can happen in Los Angeles’… and we care for a little bit. Until the illusion of safety rolls back in. ‘That’s happening over there, it has nothing to do with me and my life over here.’ ‘That’s their doing and their problem’… whatever the story is, to make it separate from our own lives.
It’s easy to be overwhelmed, to feel the world needs to be fixed and what can I do?
United Nations, The Elders, endless foundations, humanitarian organizations, charities and individuals are working for a more balanced world, a world that works for 100% of humanity and this Earth, all the time. The positive list is long as well.
Peace, justice, equality or whatever we seek, will never be achieved in the external world, as long as we humans live with internal turmoil. As long as we seek to feel safe and good about ourselves, by manipulating the external world around us. As long as we separate ourselves and think “people” do this or that, as long as we see “them” over there and “us” over here.
We are all individual expressions of one greater whole. Whatever each one of us brings to this whole makes a difference. Caring for our own personal vibration is the most important thing anyone of us can do.
Being happy is the most important thing you can do for this world… and for yourself!
It does not make all the other actions irrelevant by any means. But if you do any of them from a point of view of justification, entitlement, sacrifice or being a martyr… or any other state of being other than the passion of your heart, the joy of your authentic being…. well, then you are still part of the problem and you are not helping.
Peace – and everything else – begins inside of each and every individual.
So, when the media reports on the endless acts of atrocities, do whatever you can to stay from an open heart, a joyful mind and with peaceful emotions. Once you are in this state of being then make your choice what actions you need or do not need to take.
Do whatever you can to live form this space all the time – an open heart, a joyful mind and with peaceful emotions… this is the most effective way to change the world… your own world as well as the one around you.
Every moment counts, every encounter makes a difference!
