The little coffee shop in Rosarito Mexico is bustling with life. The smell of coffee in the air. Friends hanging out, business men and women rushing in and out.
I’m enjoying my latte profoundly, holding it with both hands, almost fondling it. The smell…. oh the smell of freshly brewed coffee. The heat on my hands. Not to mention the taste, as I slowly sip the very hot liquid. All my senses are alive and enjoying the moment.

I notice that my friend is quietly watching me, with an unusual intense interest… I’m just having a café latte after all. After a long moment of silence, she almost whispers… “That is so beautiful, you’re having a love affair with your coffee”!
I’m a little taken aback by the clarity of her perception… it’s not often that anyone notices.
But, yes, she is absolutely right… I’m in communion with my café latte.
The texture of the cup, the intense smell, the rich taste, the warmth… the feeling of the chair underneath me, the bustling of the room, the sunlight shining through the window, gently warming my skin… the whole experience. I’m taking it all in and I’m enjoying it fully, without holding back, without screening or filtering.
I am fully present within myself, in this moment… no thoughts on yesterday or tomorrow. My body, emotions and mind are all open to this moment, taking everything in with a loving acceptance of what is… there is no resistance and no desire to hold on to.
There is also a desire to love, a desire to be in love with, what IS… in this moment.
And the funny thing is, when you love what Is… “it” tends to love you back. Everything is alive with energetic vibration. Everything responds to everything else.
There truly is communion with my coffee, with this moment, with this full experience.
When you’re intensely present in the moment, open and willing to let Life… Love… flow through you, every moment is an opportunity for communion – and life becomes an ongoing “love making” with the most mundane things and situations… which leaves You vibrating with love and joy.
