Have you ever been in a location, situation or the presence of another human, where, in a moment, everything falls away?
Suddenly you’re present, in the here and now, with no concerns for yesterday or tomorrow.
There’s a sense of “I,” beyond what your daily mind interprets as “I am this or that.”
the “I” that you sense,
is always present,
always at peace…
wise and powerful beyond your wildest imagination…
most of us to live our lives oblivious of,
or at least disconnected from,
this innate inner presence...
the essence of your being,
the truth of what/who you are.
As babies we’re completely present in the moment, feeling and expressing everything as it unfolds, without limitations, without holding back or creating mental stories around it. Being present is our natural state of being.
Feeling and experiencing
as it arises in your being,
can be incredibly intense.
As children, most of us completely forget who - or what - we are; now presence is something we only experience in fleeting moments here and there.
However, the longing for Presence never leaves us. We seek it everywhere, mostly through external means – love, sex, food, drugs, power and recognition; but, also, through things such as meditation, religion, spiritual practices, etc.
We seek what we already are.
Stepping into his presence would bring me back to being present...to my own Presence.
My daily persona would fall away and what was left was “I”… me; without a story, without the “I am this or that,”and in that “space”... that state of being, I found peace.
When out of his presence, my persona (the story I told about myself and my life) would return; but, each time it would be a little less rigid, losing some of its power…. creating a change in me and how I lived life.
even if it is the Presence of someone or something else,
we start to reconnect with our own Presence;
and over time, Presence becomes more present in us than Persona,
and life as we know it changes completely.
Suddenly there is a sense of Peace and Joy present,
regardless of what is going on around us.
Suddenly we can see Love – Presence - in everyone,
regardless of his or her appearance, words or actions.
Suddenly being human in this crazy world feels like a blessing,
not a punishment, hardship or something we just need to endure.
Suddenly life is no longer so serious, but, instead, easy and fun.
Then, the only thing that matters is Presence –
being in presence, living from presence and sharing presence with others…
living with inner – and therefore outer – Peace.
